I originally decided to register as a childminder after my son's childminder decided to stop. I had to sit down and decide what to do with my life, and it wasn't an easy decision, I had to think long and hard. Our children are very precious to us all. In the back of my mind I'd always felt that my son could have done so much more with his time at the childminders. I have to say I was very lucky my son loved going to his childminders and enjoyed every minute.
It's hard enough going to work, missing out on their life, without wondering what they are up to while their not with you. I wanted so much to get home just once to a picture or a painting and decided I would show them how it's done. I was a registered childminder for several years before I went back to Retail Management.
Several years later I am returning to the job I loved most. I am applying through the local trust and NICMA and hoping to start my NVQ level 3 in Children's Care and Development in September.
At home now we do several activities and outings depending on the children's ages. Most activities though can be adapted for younger children. What matter's most is that the children are happy and safe.
We look forward to welcoming you and your child into our home as well as our family.
